Is the Google Pixel 3 XL still worth buying in Pakistan?
The Google Pixel 3 XL is one of the most budget-friendly ways to experience stock Android and Google's classic computational photography in Pakistan. Priced from Rs. 18,499, this device is ideal as a secondary phone, dedicated testing handset for mobile app developers, or an affordable camera phone for students. While its software updates concluded with Android 12 and it carries 4GB of RAM, its lightweight software footprint keeps core messaging, WhatsApp, banking apps, and light web browsing running smoothly.
PTA Approval and Network Compatibility for Pixel 3 XL
This Google Pixel 3 XL is listed in Non-PTA status to match your exact connectivity needs and budget. Official PTA Approved variants are permanently registered with DIRBS and work unconditionally on Jazz, Zong, Telenor, and Ufone SIMs. Network Supported (CPID/Patch) units offer full calling and 4G data functionality at a substantial price saving. Non-PTA variants remain functional on Wi-Fi permanently with 60 to 120 days of provisional SIM access before requiring tax payment.
Single-Lens 12.2MP Camera: Google's Classic HDR+ Heritage
Even years after release, the single 12.2MP rear camera on the Google Pixel 3 XL holds up remarkably well against modern entry-level budget phones in Pakistan. Google's original HDR+ algorithms balance shadows and highlights accurately, avoiding the artificial skin-smoothing common on low-tier competitor cameras. Night Sight enables clear evening snapshots of city streets and family gatherings without flash, while portrait mode creates natural background bokeh through machine-learning edge detection.
Battery Expectations and Thermal Realities in Pakistan
The internal battery on the Google Pixel 3 XL is suited for moderate daily use, calls, and essential browsing. Given the compact battery capacity typical of this generation, power users should anticipate topping up during the day. ZELLEN technicians thoroughly test every battery before dispatch to guarantee 80%+ health. For optimal charging safety and battery longevity in Pakistan's warm climate, we advise using a certified 18W USB Power Delivery charger.
